About Permata Move

An Advisory Firm Built Around
How Dispatch Rooms Actually Work

We founded Permata Move because most AI advice reaches transport teams as a product demo, not a conversation. We spend time in your operations before we propose anything.

Our Story

How Permata Move Came Together

Permata Move began as a conversation between a transport operator in Selangor and two advisors who had spent years working alongside government-linked companies on systems improvements. The operator had received several AI proposals from technology vendors. Each one looked sensible on paper. None of them acknowledged how dispatch rooms in Malaysian bus companies actually function under pressure.

That gap — between what AI vendors offer and what transport teams need — became the reason Permata Move exists. We are not a software company. We are an advisory firm that helps operators think carefully about where AI can support their people, and where it would just add noise.

We opened our Putrajaya office in early 2024 and have since worked with operators running intercity routes, airport transfers, and school bus fleets across Peninsular Malaysia. Every engagement begins the same way: we observe before we propose.

Our team holds working familiarity with APAD licensing conditions, JPJ operational requirements, and the SPAD-era frameworks that many operators still reference day-to-day. We maintain a living record of relevant circulars so that our recommendations stay current with regulatory changes.

We are deliberate about keeping our engagements small. A Listening Visit is one advisor, one dispatch room, one or two working sessions. A pilot runs for four weeks under close supervision. A retainer covers one operator at a time. This is not because we lack capacity — it is because the quality of observation matters more than the volume of clients.

Our Mission

To help Malaysian transportation operators find the right role for AI in their operations — without displacing the human judgement that keeps passengers moving safely.

Standards & Protocols

How We Work, and What We Hold to

Regulatory Alignment

Every proposal we make is checked against current APAD licensing conditions and JPJ operational guidance before it reaches you. We keep a dated reference library and note when circulars change.

Data Handling Protocol

Operational data accessed during a pilot is not retained beyond the engagement. A data handling addendum is part of every agreement. You own your route records and passenger data at all times.

Observe-First Discipline

We do not arrive with a pre-built solution. Every engagement begins with structured observation. What we see in your operations shapes what we suggest — not the other way around.

Bilingual Delivery

All training materials and operational briefs are produced in both Bahasa Malaysia and English. Night-shift teams and senior managers receive the same information, in the language they prefer.

Human Confirmation Standard

During any engagement, no AI-drafted message or summary reaches an external party without dispatcher confirmation. This is a non-negotiable part of how we scope every pilot.

Written Records Standard

Findings, proposals, and audit results are provided in writing after every engagement. Retainer clients receive a structured brief each month, with an annual summary written for board-level review.

Our Expertise

What We Bring to Transportation Advisory

Deep Familiarity with Malaysian Transport Operations

The Malaysian land transport sector operates under a layered regulatory framework. Bus operators hold licences issued under different APAD categories. Route deviations carry specific reporting obligations. Driver communications are subject to standards set across several agencies. Most AI advisory work does not engage with any of this detail.

At Permata Move, this context is the starting point, not an afterthought. When we review a dispatch desk, we are looking at it through the lens of what the operation is permitted to do, not only what technology can do.

A Measured View of Where AI Fits

We take a sceptical but open view of AI in transport operations. Some tasks — grouping customer enquiries, summarising route deviation logs, flagging fare anomalies — suit AI assistance well. Others, such as final dispatching decisions or passenger communication during service failures, benefit from experienced human judgment.

Our advice is grounded in this distinction. We help operators find the boundary between where AI reduces workload and where it introduces risk, then build safeguards around it.
